On 27 February 2023, Jackie Turner, a journalist for the digital media Junkee, published a news article entitled “How To Identify Dangerous Anti-Trans Disinformation”.
The headline is about how to identify dangerous anti-transgender disinformation, but the second half of the article is about the headline, and the first half is too long with irrelevant content, making the reader lose interest. And the images used have little to do with the content of the article.
Hyperlinks are used sparingly in the article, linking to other news items that are similar to the content of this article, and I think more knowledge could be added in other areas.
Firstly, the information is not professional enough and the author starts in the first person, for example by giving examples of her own use of various social media platforms for information gathering or dissemination as a transgender person to deepen the background information. More convincing images and hyperlinks are recommended.
Overall, the article is too long, illogical, too many concepts are explained leading to a lag in focus, the narrative is one-dimensional, unconvincing, and lacks interactivity.
As the article is about preventing disinformation, but readers can only be warned in this article, I thought it would be useful to provide some posts at the end of the article that could be communicated on other social media platforms.
